Cornered

Unfired porcelain fiber-clay and found objects

Are we cornered? This long period of quarantine that we have all experienced has bound us in our own domestic spaces.  Families have been displaced and rearranged, some have been confined to solitude and some have had crowded homes of returning family members. Jobs have been lost and others have found new employment. This human condition is like a balancing act which can inspire creative solutions and tactical sensitivity. The narrower the corners, the more intense are the requirements placed on us.  Those corners can propel us to rise up higher if we choose to face the challenges that the boundaries of domesticity have built. The materials used in this piece are family heirlooms, other meaningful found objects from my home and unfired porcelain made with fiber.
